The Light at the End of the Tunnel
The world continues to change quickly, and it seems like most things are headed in a positive direction. Vaccines are plentiful, restaurants and shops are open, and many students are back in school. Here at DuraVent, we are continuing to change as well. I am excited to announce that we have taken the giant step of launching our initial product into the air filtration market. Below you will find a link to the DuraVent HEPA Tower website, which will demonstrate how it can be used to improve the indoor air quality of the buildings we occupy.  While the product can solve the IAQ challenges of a wide range of spaces, our initial marketing launch has targeted K-12 schools where our uniquely sized product is perfectly designed to meet the challenges of a typical classroom. I’d encourage you to check out for more information about both the product and the science behind it.

We are also excited to announce the introduction of our new partner in Southern California, Venting Pros. This partnership is our expansion into
the So Cal market with John Adachi and Chris Cassidy. We feel very fortunate that following the retirement of, longtime Security Chimneys representative, Richard Freet in December, we are able to continue to go to market with partners that have the experience and market credibility that John and Chris have.

2021 also continues to bring change to local building codes. Recent legislative changes in both New York City and Massachusetts have altered what is allowed to be used as venting material.  Other changes are being considered in jurisdictions across both the United States and Canada. What hasn’t changed, however, is the acceptance of DuraVent products, both stainless steel and PolyPro, for all applications.

As always, I want to thank you for helping us get off to a great start in 2021. We are excited about all the changes and new business opportunities!

DuraVent's New HEPA Filtration Tower
According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), "Portable HEPA filtration units that combine a HEPA filter with a powered fan system are a great option for auxiliary air cleaning, especially in higher risk settings such as health clinics, schools, offices, or public waiting areas." As we all have come to realize during the COVID-19 pandemic, the quality of the air we breathe is vital to keeping all of us safe and healthy. In response, DuraVent has brought to market our new HEPA Tower Filtration system designed to rapidly reduce the spread of infection by efficiently removing very small viral aerosols like COVID-19. It doesn’t stop there, however. HEPA filtration is also extremely effective at ridding the indoor air of other viral and bacterial contaminants, including colds and flus, as well as asthma inducing particulates like dust, mold and pollen. Due to the evenly distributed airflow of the DuraVent HEPA Filter Tower, and its ability to deliver 10 ACH (Air Changes per Hour) to the average sized classroom, HEPA can  purge the air of COVID-19, H1N1, and a host of other pathogens in just 6 minutes! It is extremely efficient, quite, and has a beautiful wood grain exterior, HEPA offers a best in class option to keep your classroom, office, or any other public space safe from airborne pathogens. DuraVent's PolyPro®: Listed and Approved

We have recently seen some confusion in the market as to whether DuraVent's PolyPro® is or is not approved as a vent solution in New York City. The answer? PolyPro IS a listed and approved venting material for New York City, listed to the ULC S636 standard. After contacting the NYC Buildings office, we have received the below confirmation that DuraVent’s PolyPro is approved for use in New York City:

"Only listed plastic piping shall be installed in accordance with the term of its listing and the manufacturer’s instructions. The use of unlisted plastic piping to vent Category IV appliances is prohibited, even if the appliance manufacturer would permit its use."

PolyPro is listed in accordance with ULC S636 and this gives PolyPro the needed listing to be installed in New York City. Please hit the button below to contact us with any further questions.
